Mutual Love Society with Wu Tsang
Program title: Mutual Love Society with Wu Tsang

As part of Wu Tsang’s research residency at Spring Workshop, this public program is based on Wu’s current project researching and interpreting the life and writings of Chinese revolutionary, feminist and poet Qiu Jin (秋瑾 1875–1907) and her intimate friend, the calligrapher Wu Zhiying (吳芝瑛, 1867-1936). Since poetry and wine were central to their relationship, Wu invites interested participants to join her for a night of drinks and appreciation (“mis-translations”) of Qiu Jin and Wu Zhiying’s poetry.
