John Batten

John Batten is an active member of Hong Kong’s art community as an art critic, curator and public commentator on art, culture, heritage and urban planning issues. He is a regular contributor to Ming Pao Weekly, the South China Morning Post, Perspective architecture magazine and on television and radio. He previously ran his own gallery and was Organiser of the annual charity art event, Hong Kong ArtWalk, for over ten years. He is a founder and Convenor of the heritage and urban planning advocacy group, the Central & Western Concern Group; President of the International Association of Art Critics-Hong Kong; and, a member of the advisory Arts Working Group of Tai Kwun/Central Police Station.
