Spring is delighted to begin 2014 by welcoming Daiske Kino-Shita (flute), Saori Nakazawa (violin), Thomas Rosenkranz (pianist) and Sebastian Schottke (sound engineer) to residencies in January 2014. While in Hong Kong for the Modern Academy, these musicians will work as mentors for the 60 young string players, percussionists, conductors and sound engineers from Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas who are participating in the program.
Presented by the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble in collaboration with the Goethe-Institut Hongkong, the inaugural Modern Academy is an intensive week-long course focused on increasing skills of students and young professional musicians in the performance and appreciation of music of the late 20th and 21st centuries.
Don’t miss the Modern Academy’s public concerts which will be held at different locations during the week, featuring both local composers and musicians as well as the world-famous string ensemble Ensemble Resonanz (Hamburg).
