The month of October has brought the Obie-award-winning New Yorker Michael Friedman to Wong Chuk Hang as Spring’s first writer/composer-in-residence. Since arriving, Michael has been traversing Hong Kong non-stop on a ferocious mission to listen to the viewpoints of everyone he encounters which he then ingeniously folds into songs of a sort you haven’t heard before.
At 7 o’clock on the evening of October 27, please join us for a musical and lyrical exploration of Michael’s intriguing interests, which range from Mormons to Mongkok, communes to Cantopop, and U.S. President Andrew Jackson to HK Chief Executive C.Y.Leung. This event will be a cocktail hour mini-concert with Michael at the keyboard. Drinks will be served.
(Limited seats. Please register by clicking the RSVP button to the right.)
