Urban agriculturists and artist collective HK Farm (Glenn Eugen Ellingsen, Michael Leung and Anthony Ko) continue to sow seeds through the winter during their year-long residency at Spring. While waiting for the next harvest, we’d like to invite you take part in “Talk to Your Plants”, our booth where you can record a message for the plants and take your first plant selfie. HK Farm is also calling for your biodegradable edibles to join a collective compost installation from which you’ll literally be able to see and feel the heat rising as energy is produced to power up the harvest. More info on what you can bring for that can be found here. |

Set against the quiet backdrop of Days push off into nights, we are delighted to introduce you to a new commission from a team that includes Janine Armin, Heman Chong, Christina Li, and Julie Peeters. What began as a conversation at Spring in 2013 has now crystallized into Stationary, an ongoing annual publication that seeks to make a literary space where artists, curators, and writers are invited to write about things, ideas, figures, places, and moments which otherwise could not find form or expression within their own creative practices. Stationary will form a dense collection of short stories over five years. Stationary is distributed by personal recommendation via email or word of mouth, and arrives wrapped in a special cover commission from Manfred Pernice. Our hope is that this way of circulating stories allows for a circle of readers to form slowly, specifically, and generously over the years. Two thousand copies will be printed and are available free of charge by request from stationarystories.com. |

During Art Basel, Hong Kong will be buzzing with interesting art programs. We are especially looking forward to those put on by our partner organisations and advisors: Asia Art Archive‘s Open Platform and Ha Bik Chuen exhibition, Para Site‘s latest exhibition A Hundred Years of Shame – Songs of Resistance and Scenarios for Chinese Nations, M+‘s first moving images project, Intelligence Squared‘s debate “The Art World Is A Boys’ Club”, a Salon session titled Post Global: Art After Identity Politics featuring Spring’s current resident, Wu Tsang.
