We need your help!

After four years of hosting 160 artists/collaborators, 95 residents, 107 public programs and exhibitions, and over 8,000 visitors, and providing ongoing support and partnerships to top organizations like Asia Art Archive, Para Site, HK New Music Ensemble and Witte de With, Spring Workshop is a finalist for Best Asian Contemporary Art Institution in the Prudential Eye Awards 2016, based on our experimentation with the way art can be presented, supported and experienced.  The winner is determined by public vote, which is done with a quick email stating your name, city and vote.

If you have 30 seconds now, may we ask you to use them to vote for us?  Here’s how:

1. Open an email to nominations@prudentialeyeawards.com (or CLICK HERE for an instant one)
2. Write “For Best Asian Contemporary Art Institution in the Prudential Eye Awards 2016, I would like to vote for Spring Workshop.”
3. Sign your name and your city.
4. Send!

Thank you for taking a moment to recognise our efforts.  We send heartfelt thanks for your support of Spring Workshop.

In December, Trevor Yeung will present a final Lonesome and George chronicle in Cantonese (Dec 13), amidst the remnants of his other performances.  After a magical unfurling of programs and artworks all autumn, our exhibition Des hôtes will close with drinks at 5pm on December 20. Come join us one last time in 2015 to see new traces left by the artists in our fall program.

Duilian
Wu Tsang

It’s a wrap!

Now at the end of her two three-month residencies when she researched, translated and prepared, Wu Tsang has finally finished filming the new work in locations across Hong Kong with most of Spring Workshop’s team on the film crew.

When our curator-at-large Defne Ayas introduced us to Wu Tsang’s dream project Duilian two years ago, we couldn’t have foreseen the paths it has taken us down.  We look forward to sharing Wu’s premiere with you in March 2016 at Spring.

Lonesome and George
with Trevor Yeung

Following his first presentation in November 7, Trevor Yeung continues his storytelling project. Inspired by the story of Lonesome George, the last known specimen of a subspecies of Pinta Island tortoise, Yeung has embarked on a search for other Lonesome Georges out in the wild, resulting in an evening of tales he presents in collaboration with a storyteller.

His final Cantonese session will be Dec 13 in a special location.

* Limited capacity; please RSVP at rsvp@springworkshop.org for more details on time and location.
